22-25 May 2018 Paris (France)

Conference

This conference is the 2018 edition of a series of events organized by the "groupe d'étude sur la numération". It is intended as a continuation of the

"Journées Numération, Pavages, Substitutions'' in Grenoble in March 2005,
"Journées de Numération (Zö'tåg' in Graz)" in Graz in April 2007,
"Journées Numération'' in Prague Czech Technical University in May 2008, and the conferences
"Numeration: Mathematics and Computer Science'' in CIRM Marseille in March 2009,
"Numeration'' at the Lorentz Center in Leiden in June 2010,
"Numération 2011" in Liège in June 2011,
"Numeration and Substitution: 2012" in Kyoto in June 2012,
"Numeration and Substitution 2014" in Debrecen in July 2014,
"Numeration 2015" in Nancy in May 2015,
"Numeration 2016" in Prague in May 2016,
"Numeration 2017" in Rome in June 2017.

The main topics are gathered around numeration systems (beta-expansions, canonical number systems, continued fractions, etc.) and include:

  • geometric aspects (fractals, tilings, quasi-crystals),
  • dynamical/probabilistic aspects (odometers, subshifts, ergodic theory),
  • analytic aspects (related arithmetical functions),
  • topological aspects (compactifications and applications),
  • computer science (automata, languages).

Authors are invited to submit an extended abstract (not exceeding 6 pages) within the scope of the conference.
